Abstract (EN)

In our master's thesis, the subject of protecting the consumer against deceptive advertisements in the free market economy in Turkish Law is discussed. Along with technological developments, the consumer is frequently exposed to deceptive advertisements about products and services through all kinds of channels. The ways in which the consumer can apply in Turkish Law in the face of these advertisements and the control of these advertisements are examined in detail. In our study, first of all, the concept of advertising, the principles that dominate the Advertising Law and the concepts of deceptive advertising are emphasized. Afterwords, the consumer's remedies in Turkish Law and the provisions of the legislation on which he is based are examined one by one. With our thesis, it has been researched what the provisions and mechanisms that protect the consumers against deceptive advertisements in Turkish Law are and how effective they are.
