Abstract (EN)

In this study, a questionnaire survey has been conducted to architects and civil engineers in order to investigate job satisfaction and organizational commitment of Turkish construction industry professionals. Personality traits, job satisfaction, professional commitment and organizational commitment levels of architects and civil engineers were determined and the relationships between these variables with both each other and with socio-demographic characteristics were examined. The conceptual model which was based on literature findings, has been tested by utilizing Structural Equation Modeling and the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between both the personality traits and the professional commitment of construction professionals with organizational commitment were determined. The results of this study showed that employers should adopt policies to increase job satisfaction of employees which associate to employees? demographic and personality traits in order to increase organizational commitment of Turkish construction industry professionals.
