Contribution of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency tosocial services in Sudan

Social work is one of the professions that concerns the individual, family, and society by solving social problems to ensure social welfare. This study focuses on TIKA's work within the borders of the Republic of Sudan. The study aimed to determine the contribution of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency to social work-related activities by referring to the data from 2006 to 2022 in Sudan. A descriptive approach was used in this study to accurately describe the phenomenon. The study focuses on the diversity of TIKA's fields of work and the social and developmental aspects of the work. The feature that distinguishes TIKA from others is that it has contributed to the development of relations between the Sudanese people and Turkey in many fields for the expansion of its working areas. The fact that TIKA mentions its contribution to the social work in the research is not that TIKA is the only institution that offers social activities in Sudan. On the contrary, like other local organizations in Sudan, it provides a part of its economic, political, and cultural activities as well as social service. The study shows that TIKA's service is effective and active, by reaching quickly to the people and its projects are successful. The study also introduced the history of schools providing social work education, formal and informal institutions carrying out social work activities, and social work areas such as hospitals in Sudan. The study also provides the experience of some institutions that carry out social work activities in Sudan, such as local, regional and international organizations related to social services. The study clarified the main social problems facing Sudan. Findings and research recommendations that may assist future studies are presented.
