Abstract (EN)
Occupational health and safety are a science which contains all the basic problems of employees come up against in their work life. Even though working life always contained the risks, especially the industrial revolution and technological developments had changed the perspective of occupational health and safety and make the risen of numbers of occupational accidents. Therefore, occupational health and safety has become an issue that states should give more significance and they started to make more detailed regulations compare to past. Today, occupational health and safety has become one of the cornerstones of labour law. Remote work is a flexible working model where the work takes place outside the workplace with the help of technology and communication services. Home-work model, which is one of the types of remote working and is based on hand works, has a very old history. But today, tele-work which is the other type of remote work, has become more common. In Turkish Labor Legislations, home-work and tele-work had combined under the term of remote working. Today, by virtue of technology, remote working can be possible in many business lines. When it is not possible to ignore occupational health and safety rules in a typical labor act, it is the same with the remote working. However, since remote work is an atypical act rather than a standard job, occupational health and safety rules will not be as applied to a classical employee. Especially with the Covid-19 pandemic that emerged in 2019, it has become a compulsory working model rather than a preference. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on issues such as occupational health and safety rules in remote work, what extent they can be applied and the obligations of employers and employees in this regard. The main subject of our study is clarifying the occupational health and safety rules at remote work. In this context, in the first part of our study, general information about occupational health and safety was given, in the second part the term of remote working was examined, and in the last parth occupational health and safety at remote work was emphasized.
