The importance of digitalization in Turkish public administration: The example of UYAP information system

In recent years, a digitalization process has been experienced in the field of public administration, as in many other fields. The most important example of digitalization in public administration is e-government application. E-government application, which enables public services to be provided faster, more effectively and more efficiently than before, attracts great attention in Turkish public administration, as in many countries. E-government application, which enables many public services in Turkish public administration to be provided electronically, is designed to be integrated with almost every institution. Although there are many important projects of e-government application, the most important reflection of this application in the Turkish judicial system is the National Judicial Network Project (UYAP). This study focuses on the UYAP information system, which makes significant contributions to the Turkish judicial system. In this study, which consists of three parts, firstly Turkish public administration is discussed. Then, the conceptual framework of digitalization is emphasized. Then, the general framework of the UYAP information system and important opinions about this system are included. In the conclusion section, suggestions are made for the UYAP information system within the framework of the findings.
