Examination of the influence on the performance of jewelers that the factors of being stressed in Turkish jewellery sector: The qualitative research who do the jewellery business in mersin province

Today's rapidly changing economic situations, new inventions in the field of technology, and the involvement of these inventions in all areas of our private life, business life and with the increase in the competitive ambiance, companies have to act to add more value to them. The necessity of people adapting to these constantly changing and developing conditions caused the stress phenomenon to occur. Stress has an important place in business life and which is considered to be one of the most important factors affecting the performance of employees while fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Generally, perceived as negative concept of stress should be taken into consideration that sometimes employees have a triggering effect and they can affect their performance positively by increasing their determination to work. Although stress in business life has a stimulating effect on employees and increases their performance in the first place, the increasing of the pressure on the other hand and the continuity of the individual in such a way that they cannot remove this pressure cause excessive stress and decrease their performance. Stress in the workplace affects the performances of the employees through three basic factors which are personal stressors, organizational stressors and environmental stressors. This study research the effect of stress phenomenon on performance in business life by taking into account the problem areas of daily life. This study, is a research carried out which covers individuals in the jewelery sector in Mersin province, uses qualitative methods to measure the degree to which stress affects jewelers on performance. By analyzing the data obtained from interviews with the jewelers operating in Mersin province, it is concluded that the stress affects the performances of the employees working in the jewelery sector through three basic factors. These factors include that depend on the individual, such as earnings, family, experience and age factors, the originates of the person work from organization, confidence and continuity, professional competence, time pressure, capital, security, health factors, and environmental stressors contain economic, politic risk and technology factors. When occur factors of stress, security, inexperience, family and professional competence directly negative affect that employee's performance, earnings, time pressure, capital, security, health, economic and political risks, technology, confidence and continuity affect the employee's performance in a positive way, however, if the pressure is continuous, the level of stress increases and the performance of the employee negatively affects. In this case, it is concluded that the employees working in the jewelry sector face with stress as an important process that should be perceived as a good process and to manage this process by developing various strategies against it.
