Evaluation of citizen journalism through the concept of ethics in Turkish media

In this research, it was aimed to compare the differences of citizen journalism and national journalism in the topic of the refugee crisis by thematizing the ethical violation. Bianet&Dokuz8haber websites were chosen as a subject group of citizen journalism. Hürriyet&Yeni Şafak websites were chosen as a subject group of national journalism. All of the related news on the above-mentioned websites were studied and detected ethical violations were compared. First of all, the ethical concept is researched and pointed to the ethical facts at the media. First of all, the ethical concept was researched and was pointed to the ethical facts at the media. It was also mentioned about the new media trend and the possible research interest were examined as well as it is studied deeply. The Bianet, Dokuz8haber, Hürriyet ve Yenisafak news web sites are the basics of this study. The related news were commentated on these web sites and were analyzed by the content analysis method in between the dates 28.02.2020-28.03.2020 when the borders of Europe were opened in Turkey. The points released by ''Ethical Journalism Network" which were about the ethical problems faced on the refugee news are base of this review. The results of this research, it was confirmed that the national journalism made more news about these issues and made less ethical violations rated the news quantity than citizen journalism. It was elicited that there was less news on the Dokuz8haber website about the refugee crisis and the Bianet website did not pay too much attention to the ethical violation.
