Comic book design with turkish miniature technique

Miniature art has its own unique rich history, culture and technical features. It is a value with a permanent and solid basis that hails back from the past to the present. For centuries it has become an important part of the art of painting. Miniature art has survived until today and reflects our own culture. Nowadays, there are very few miniature artists who produce quality work without removing them from traditional methods. Miniature artists have tried new applications in miniature with different styles and in various areas. These experiments have allowed the Turkish miniature product to be modernized and globalized without losing its essence. Comic book is a form of fluent and powerful expression using a series of multi-picture panels, texts describing realistic, fantastic, epic, ironic stories with events supported by speech bubbles. Since the development of comic books is directly proportional to the progress of the printing techniques, it is easier to access and benefit from this art nowadays. The subject of this research is "Comic Book Design Using Turkish Miniature Technique". Within the scope of this subject, the Turkish miniature art was examined and it is aimed to formulate a new comic book technique using this art. In the comic book prepared as product of this research, unfolds a story of an Ottoman legend "Alamet the Ottoman Robot". The researcher elaborated and designed the text, composition, and fiction based on his imagination without disturbing the essence of the story. In the comic book "Alamet the Ottoman Robot", the researcher revived a legend of our ancestors and by adapting Turkish miniature art to the contemporary art concept in relation to the subject of the research, has hand down both written and visual scientific data to future generations.
