Abstract (EN)
In postmodern process, while all concepts and phenomena have been transformed as a result of the loss of stability of the ground on which they sit due to global influences and the effect of disappearing borders, phenomenon of religion has undergone change and transformation not only in terms of its internal structure but also in terms of its social impact. Secular thinkers, who claimed that the influence of religion, whose influence in society had receded into the background with the perspective based on superiority of reason and science in the Enlightenment process, would completely disappear and that societies would exist with methods based on reason, have experienced that religions do not disappear in the postmodern world, on the contrary, they are differentiated, drawn to individual and pluralistic platforms. In order to cope with crises of modern world, which from time to time became unsolvable through rational means, individuals continued to keep their belief systems alive in their homes and private spaces, even if they distanced themselves from religious institutional structures. As a result of a global pandemic (Covid-19) as a crisis, individuals have produced their own belief systems against this problem where solutions produced through reason are not sufficient. As a result of various social problems triggered by this crisis, the phenomenon of postmodern religion has become observable. Within the scope of this study, although humor is quite contrary to traditional structure of religion, both content and discourse analysis will be carried out on cartoon texts, one of the most effective ways of humor, in order to understand the religion of postmodern times through the discourses positioned on these blurred boundaries.
