Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, entitled "Application of Turkish Motifs and Miniatures on Marbled Ceramic Surfaces Through Decal Method", a basis was provided for the Decal Printing Technique by applying the Marbling Art and its varieties on different ceramic surfaces. Afterwards, various applications were made on these surfaces. In the first section of the thesis, historical development and types of the marbling art are reviewed. In the second section, mechanical printing methods in ceramic and Decal Printing Technique are covered in detail. In the third section, Turkish motifs and miniatures, which are designed for marbled ceramic surfaces on where the Decal Printing Technique will be applied, were scaled with color on a computer, printed out and applied on the ceramics. Then the process was concluded by performing the firing procedure. Plastic art analyses of ceramics obtained are explained in detail together with images in this section of the thesis. In the conclusion section, findings and data which are related to the use of marbling method on ceramic surfaces and application of Decal Printing Technique on these surfaces are discussed.
