ABSTRACT 24 CAPRICES FOR VOLIN WRITTEN WITH THE SCALES OF THE TRADITIONAL TURKISH MUSIC Tuğrul GÖ?ÜS Master Thesis, Music Department Supervisor: Doç. Ferhang HÜSEYÎNOV Februrary 2000, 78 pages By following the accumulation of the original music culture of the Turkish people, creating a work of violin practice which would equal international standard is aimed. The work that was put together by complete individual creativeness and self experience is also a first in its field. It's purpose is to bridge the national and international practises and combine our own culture and universal traditions and it refers to those who have mastered playing the violin. So it is certainly not an etude book. The 24 caprices composed with the traditional Turkish Art Music scales combines what the player has traditionally accumulated and what he or she has developed as a result of their education.
