Nuri Abaç in Turkish painting and social life editing

In the present study, the place of Nuri Abaç (1926-2008), who was one of the artists of Contemporary Turkish Painting, in Turkish Painting, his artistic and original style were examined. Different art understandings have reflected different world views in contemporary Turkish Painting. Each of the artists transferred their own artistic understandings to their works in various forms like expressionist, abstract, innovative, realistic and imaginative; and has in fact interpreted art itself by thinking in a critical manner. Turkish art After the Republic, history was a rich and dynamic art in the 1940s with different branches of art and different forms of transmission. Nuri Abaç considered art as the most valuable part of his time. There were folkloric, local, traditional, fantastic, humorous and national images in the pictures of Nuri Abaç whose quest for art never ended. Abaç made the illusions of the real world in a surreal manner, and interpreted the traditional and contemporary images in terms of essence and form with our traditional history; and brought his art to the level of nationality. In addition, with his fairytale-like and imaginary narration, Nuri Abaç worked with a modern architectural interpretation in his colorful decorative elements in his paintings and reflected the schematic narrations we see in miniatures with miniature effect and Karagöz depictions in a fine architectural mastership without having any concerns for perspective. The paintings of Nuri Abaç were divided into two different periods as before and after 1970, and the illustrations for books that were made by Nuri Abaç were examined in detail in this thesis. Also, the life, awards, the themes and the folkloric elements in his paintings, art concept of Nuri Abaç, who was a painter of the Contemporary Turkish Painting, were examined with an introduction to the Turkish Art, and relevant subjects were also dealt with in the framework of Turkish Painting in this study.
