Abstract (EN)

This thesis titled Bureaucracy and Civil Servants in Turkish Novel (1950-1990) was prepared in order to investigate the traces of bureaucracy and civil servants in Turkish novels. The bureaucracy, which is the institution that represents the state in political and social life, and its personnels interact with the citizen in various ways. Thus, a network of relationships emerges between the state, civil servants and citizens. In our thesis, we tried to reveal this interaction first from the perspective of the state, then the civil servant and finally the citizen. In this sense, the novels specified were examined with a thematic method and the collected data were classified. In our study, in which we also touched upon the historical and social background of bureaucrats and civil servants, it was determined during the examination of the novels that the examples contained points compatible with the mentioned realities.
