Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY THE JUSTICE PARTY IN TURKISH POLITICAL LIFE (1961-1971) Key words: The Justice Party, Turkish Political System, Political Party, Party Policy, Politics. The aim of thesis is to analyse the establishment, role, social, economical, religious, secularism and foreign policies of the Justice Party and its national education and health system policies between 1961-1971, in particular during 1965-1971 when it was the only ruling party. We also discussed the ideological and social pillars, outcome, contributions and impairment of these policies to Turkish political life. In our study, we tried to evaluate the consequences of the Justice Party's policies by means of statistical data. We aimed to understand: The ideological foundation of the Justice Party using party programme, the MPs utilising their ages, educational status, professionals by comparison of other parties; the social foundation of the party by means of socio-economical, settlement status (urbanised or rural), age status and geographical regions of its voters. Instead of some original marerials we had to make use of periodicals and newspapers, due to the loss of these materials during the military coup. xu
