Milli Gorus parties and division congresses in Turkish political life

The 1960s in Turkish politics is the period when the distinction between right and left began to become clear and a strong base was formed. During this period, there was also a ground that the religious section, especially those who are stuck in the so-called right-wing sections, needed formations that adopted their own ideas and engaged in politics in this respect. The determination of the differences experienced by the Milli Gorus Movement, which is an influential movement in Turkish political life, the determination of the underlying causes of the differences experienced and the processes leading to the separation have been examined and the positive and negative effects on Turkish political life have been investigated. The movement has survived many political troubles since its establishment in 1969, and has been subjected to party closures and bans. The movement has been divided during its political life, experiencing four post-congress divisions. The movement, which has experienced divisions and divisions as a result of the formation of different understandings and ideas, has continued its political life despite all that has happened. This study, in which the four congresses of the movement that were divided were examined using the qualitative research method, addressed all the divisions that the movement has experienced since its foundation to the present day, rather than research that examines certain divisions in the literature, and aimed to contribute to the literature by examining the divisions experienced after the death of the founding leader of the movement.
