This study comprehensively examines the place and usage of Turkish symbols (tamgas), a deep-rooted element of Turkish culture, in contemporary fashion design. Throughout history, tamgas have been used by Turkish communities to express concepts such as identity, power, and beliefs. These symbols, which have been a significant part of cultural heritage from the ancient Turks of Central Asia to the present day, are being rediscovered and interpreted in modern fashion design. In the first section of the study, the historical development of Turkish tamgas, their areas of use, and the symbolic meanings they carry are discussed in depth.
