ABANT IZZET BAYSAL UNIVERSITYGRADUATE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCESDEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS?TURKISH AGRICULTURE AND ITS HARMONY WITHIN THEPROCESS OF TURKEY?S ACCESSION TO EU?Yıldıray EJDER, 2005ABSRACTIn this study, the agricultural sector in European Union and Turkey is analyzed bytaking theorical issues and concepts of agricultural policy into consideration. During thinanalysis the agricultural policy and its concequences are examined according to periodsof time the policy is applied. While determining the subjects and consepts of agriculturalpolicy, the national and overnations agricultural policies are examined and therelationship between them is tired to be defined. In analysis of agricultural sector of EU,the formation of Common Agricultural Poliyc that EU applies. Its goals and elementsand the agricultural policies applied in each period of time are examined. In the analysisof Turkısh Agricultural Sector, information about Turkısh Agriculturae is given in detailand scrutiny is made after the exzamination of differnt agricultural policies in each periodof time and about the elements of agricultural policies applied. In the analysis ofharmonisation with Common Agricultural Policy, after the importance of agriculturalsector in Turkish and EU economy is examined, the changes in the agricultural structurein Turkey and EU are found out, and are compared wiht eachother. After that thehormony of Turkish Agricultural with Common Agricultural Policy is taken intoconsideration. After all these studies; the state of agricultural sector in Turkey, theconsequences of policies applied, the proplems and the precautions required to be takento solve these problems are declared in the conclusion.
