Die nation in den Deutschen und Türkischen antrittsreden eine politiolinguistische diskursanalyse

The word nation and its lexical field in inauguration speeches of German and Turkish prime ministers was determined in the present dissertation. The frequency of usage and determination of the lexical field and its change is the main purpose of the research. Therefor a linguistic fundament, especially from the political linguistics, researches about nationalism (relating to the history of the countries) and hermeneutic corpora will be given to strength the theoretical base of this research. Referring to theoretical corpora the inauguration speeches will be analyzed and saved with the help of a data-pool-program. The evaluation will show with help of statistics, how the idea about the lexical field of the lexeme nation has changed. Now a conclusion regarding the aim of this dissertation can be done: Did Turkish and German prime ministers use the word in a different way, is the structure of the lexical field dissimilar in their usage? Especially for the European Union as an alliance of states, the research of nationalism in political speeches is an attention-grabbing sector that shows ideological attitudes and their actions. Furthermore the research proves the sustainability of linguistics in the field of policy, how words can change in their usage and value. Through the data-pool-program that can be used in similar fields words can be controlled in their context in any speech wanted.The study shows the difficulties regarding valid analyses in the political field of linguistics, but at the same time it proves its importance. Linguistic can provide help for a better, international understanding in the field of politics. According this idea, the dissertation may serve as an example for future works in the same research area.
