Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to examine the perspectives and expectations of Turkish and foreign students, who have taken at least one accounting course at the faculty of business and Political Sciences at Sakarya University, towards accounting education. In fact, this research is to contribute to the literature in the field of accounting. In this study, which is considered as a quantitative study, data were obtained by questionnaire method. The study was conducted with students who continue their education actively in the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, and a total of 200 students, 125 Turkish students and 75 foreign students, answered the questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS 22 package program. While the data on demographic characteristics are summarized as frequency and percentage, the outlook and expectation towards accounting education are summarized as average with sub-expressions. In addition, the hypotheses were tested by performing difference analysis with the Manv-whstney U test and the kruskal-wallis H test method in terms of different independent variables for the expressions of view and expectation. Looking at the average of the findings, it has been determined that there is a positive attitude and expectations of the students towards accounting education in general. However, it has been observed that the average score of Turkish students in terms of the variables of perspective and expectation towards accounting education is slightly higher than foreign students. Considering the findings obtained in the difference analysis, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the students' perspectives on accounting education according to their nationality. However, considering the average scores, the average score for Turkish students is 113,142, while the average score for foreign students is 79,43. In other words, it is seen that Turkish students have higher perspectives on accounting education compared to foreign students.
