Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this research is to determine the effect of digital storytelling applications used in Turkish lessons on the development of students' speaking and writing skills. Embedded experimental design, one of the mixed methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 4th grade students. In the research, "Speaking Skills Graded Scoring Key for Primary School Students", "Writing Skills Evaluation Rubric", student diaries, researcher diary and student products were used as data collection tools. It has been determined that digital storytelling applications used in Turkish lessons have a statistically positive effect on speaking skills in all sub-dimensions. The scores of the experimental group students in the "Language and Expression", "Content" and "Form" sub-dimensions of writing skills are significantly higher. No significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups in the "Spelling and Punctuation" sub-dimension of writing skills. In the qualitative findings of speaking and writing skills, it was determined that the students put into practice the achievements in the curriculum. It has also been concluded that the digital storytelling application is fun, useful and skill-developing. Based on the research results, suggestions were made that digital storytelling could also be used to develop different skills.
