Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is investigating the role of word groups in teaching Turkish and evaluating the teaching of word groups, used in textbooks, in teaching Turkish to foreigners. The descriptive survey method is used in this research study. In this method, it is explained how to teach grammar with methods and techniques used in teaching Turkish to foreigners and mentioned the importance of word groups of teaching Turkish. Then, selected books used in teaching Turkish to foreigners as Gazi University, TÖMER, ? Turkish Grammar for Foreigners ? and Ankara University, TÖMER, New Hitit 1-2-3 are evaluated in terms of word groups. At the end of our study, altough there are some approach problems in both two books, it is concluded that these two pieces are successful from the point of teaching Turkish to foreigners.
