The effect of Turkish teaching programs on teachers' attitude to distance education

In an age of rapid technological developments, teachers' attitudes towards distance education and the appropriateness of education programs to distance education are thought to be important for the efficiency of distance education. In this context, the main purpose of the research is; to reveal whether Turkish teachers' attitudes towards distance education differ according to their eligibility for distance education based on their basic language skills acquisition in Turkish lesson or not. 293 Turkish teachers working in various provinces, districts and villages throughout Turkey took part in the study conducted with the descriptive scanning method which is one of the quantitative paradigms. In the study, "Attitude Scale towards Distance Education" and "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools. SPSS program was used to analyze the data collected by online method. According to the findings obtained from the study, while there was no significant difference in the attitude scores of teachers towards distance education in terms of gender variable, it was observed that there was a significant difference in terms of the variables of institution type, seniority, finding sufficient distance education knowledge, receiving education about distance education, having distance education experience before the pandemic. It has been concluded that teachers who work in a private school as an institution type, work for 6-10 years in terms of seniority, find distance education sufficient, receive education about distance education, have distance education experience before the pandemic, have high attitude scores. In terms of the level of finding all language skills of the Turkish teaching program suitable for distance education; It was concluded that there is a significant difference in the titles of the teachers who participated in the study in terms of finding listening, speaking, writing and reading skills acquisitions suitable for distance education at the 5,6,7 and 8th grade levels. Teachers with high attitude scores stated that they found the acquisitions of listening, speaking, reading and writing appropriate.
