Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to develop a viable and reliable method to measure the grammar self-efficacy perception of the Turkish language teacher candidates. The study is based on scale development. The sample set consists of 321 senior students from the Turkish and Social Sciences Education departments of Gaziantep University, Mersin University, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University and Necmettin Erbakan University. During the survey construction period, focus groups are created and opinions of domain experts are collected. The drafted measurement form is applied to 120 people in a pilot study; following the analysis of the results from the pilot study, the final measurement form is applied to 332 people for the main study. Experts are consulted regarding the validity of the measurement form and an annotated factor analysis is performed. To measure the reliability, Cronbach's alpha internal consistency is calculated. As a result, a tetra-dimensional measurement form with 23 points is created. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency estimate is found as .91 and the measurement explains the 60.21% of the total deviation. The outcome of the study is a viable and sufficiently reliable "Grammar self-efficacy perception measure".
