The correlation between organizational socialization and loneliness in business life levels of Turkish language and Turkish culture teachers

The purpose of this research is to determine the correlation between organizational socialization and loneliness in business life levels of Turkish (language) and Turkish culture teachers working in state of Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany and to specify whether these circumstances indicate a significant differences according to demographic variables. The research which was performed with relational screening model, was conducted in the 2016-2017 academic year with 246 Turkish (language) and Turkish Culture Teachers working in 1442 educational institutions on behalf of Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education in the State of Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany. During the research process, personal information form, Organizational Socialization Scale (OSS) and Loneliness at Work Scale (LAWS) have been used. Research data has been analysed with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences programme version SPSS 20. Analyses of the data was examined with frequency, percentage, mean, standart deviation, Independent Samples T-Test, One way ANOVA, Tukey and Pearson correlation analysis. According to the results from the research: teachers' organizational socialization level of job satisfaction and motivation sub-dimensions are measured as "occasionally", and in organizational commitment and acceptance as "to a great extent" level. There are no significant differences in organizational socialization scale sub-dimensions: job satisfaction, motivation, organizational commitment and acceptance in terms of seniority, teaching branch and educational background. Nevertheless, at job satisfaction sub-dimension there is a significant difference in terms of gender in favor of male teachers. It is concluded from the results of Loneliness at Work Scale that teachers' perceptions of emotional deprivation and social companionship are at "intermediate (medium) level". There has been no significant correlation found at emotional deprivation and social companionship sub-dimensions according to educational background and branch variables. The results are significantly meaningful in favor of male teachers at emotional deprivation sub-dimension. According to the results of analysis teachers with 16 years or more seniority differentiate from teachers with less seniority at both sub-dimensions of LAWS in a positive aspect. According to the correlation analysis between organizational socialization scale sub-dimensions and loneliness at work scale sub-dimensions, It is concluded from the results that there is a medium-level negative relation (negative correlation /inverse correlation) between loneliness sub-dimentions: emotional deprivation, social companionship and organizational socialization sub-dimensions: job satisfaction, motivation, organizational commitment and organizational acceptance. With reference to this result it can be assumed that socialization is inversely proportional to loneliness, when socialization increases, loneliness in business life decreases.
