Abstract (EN)
This study aims to determine the learner autonomy levels of foreign students studying Turkish as a foreign language at Sakarya University. The research was conducted using a descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The study group research consisted of 350 students selected according to the random sampling method from the students enrolled in the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center at Sakarya University in the 2023-2024 academic year. "Learner Autonomy Scale" was used in the study. The data obtained from foreign students were analyzed using a statistical program. According to the normality test results performed on the data, the data were analyzed using parametric tests for some variables and nonparametric tests for some variables. As a result of the study, it was determined that foreign students' learner autonomy levels towards learning Turkish were above the medium level. However, it was determined that there was a significant difference in foreign students' learner autonomy levels towards learning Turkish in favor of female students according to gender. In addition, it was determined that the learner autonomy levels of foreign students towards learning Turkish did not show a significant difference according to the variables of age, length of stay in Turkey, and having a family member who speaks Turkish
