SUMMARY Ph.D.Thesis USE OF A GROUP WORD CHOSEN FROM TURKISH IN ROBOT ARM CONTROL Fikret Ata Fırat University Graduate School of Naturel and Applied Sciences Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering 1996, Page: 114 In this thesis, the robot arm control has been preformed using a group word chosen from Turkish. Chosen certain words, by the written softwares, speech samples base on the linear predictions and the computer aided recognition with an isolated word recognition algorithm depended on the speaker has been actualized. By means of these recognized commands and with the help of another software which uses the motion equations of the robot arm, by adjusting the steps of the step motors and hence the joints angles, the position of the robot arm to the desired coordinates and in a certain place preforming a certain task have been ensured.VI KEY WORD: Isolated word recognition, autocorrelation, linear predictive coding, dynamic time warping, nearest-neighbor decisionrule, robot, robot manipulator.
