A examination of graduate thesis on textbooks used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language

The purpose of this research is to examine the postgraduate theses written about the textbooks used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Within the scope of the studies conducted with the qualitative research method, 15 theses written between 2013-2022 were included in the study. A Document Review Key was developed for the examination of postgraduate theses in the research, and examinations were made based on content analysis. These are; general characteristics, year, university, institute, keywords, subject, purpose, method, study group, data collection method, data collection tools, data analysis, findings, results, textbooks, language levels, number of participants, participant types, and recommendations. Content analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in this research. As a result of the studies examined within the scope of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, it was found that 672 of the participants were teachers and 1296 were students. In the research examined in this study, it was found that the interview and survey forms were the most commonly used data collection tools, the most frequently studied topics were grammar and vocabulary, and in terms of language skills, speaking was the most frequently studied skill and reading was the least frequently studied. In addition, it was found that the most studied textbook was the "Yedi İklim Türkçe Öğretim Seti" and the most studied language levels were A1 and A2.
