Turkish is one of the oldest and most rooted languages in history. The effect of the nomadic society understanding of the Turks in the historical process and the fact that Turkish communities live almost everywhere in the world with the continuation of this effect, Turkish has a very wide geography. Today, there are Turkish-speaking communities in many countries around the world. With the developing technology and globalization, foreign language teaching has become one of the important criteria of every society and has been taken to widespread consumption methods. One of the oldest written texts on teaching Turkish as a foreign language throughout its history is Divan-ı Lügati't Türk, written by Kaşgarlı Mahmut for the purpose of expressing Turkish to Arabs. Many works written later were also written to contribute to the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. Collocation, on the other hand, is a term that emerged in the West in the 1950s and has grown in place of the importance of collocation courses in Western foreign language teaching. In Turkey, the importance of collocation discussion started to increase after the 2000s.
