Abstract (EN)

In our thesis named "In The Period of 1945-1950, Transition to Multi Party Politicial System and Religion in Turkey", the importance and place of the concept "religion" as a determinant in the Turkish politics is examined. Our thesis is composed of six sections. The first section is the one in which conceptual explanations are given, the ideas of the people in the position of power are explained in respect of the relationship between religion and politics in Western and Turkish communities are explored. In the second section, the relationship between religion and politics has been studied in respect of the Turkish history. The Turkish history is explored in two distinct parts; first of them is the period of the Ottoman Empire and then the single party period of Republic. In the third section, the factors that led to the period of transition to the multiplicity of parties and the movement of moving away from the understanding of laicism in the period of multiplicity of parties are overlooked. Touching upon the general characteristics of that period, political, economic and social factors whose pressure had been felt deeply on passing to the period of the multiplicity of the parties is examined. The fourth section discusses the alteration experienced by CHP, which had been the party in the power, in the policy of religion as it had been in many other areas and the transition process. This section also touches upon the well-known seventh congress of CHP and tells about the change in the education of religion. The fifth section is the one in which the ideas of the opposition parties about the education of religion are given. Most importantly, DP is involved in this period. The approaches of all small and important parties on the opposition to the religion, their relations with conservatives and their differences from CHP are tried to be displayed. Religious groups and ways are explored in the sixth section. The history of these religious groups and ways, what they compromise and their efficiency in our political life are all clarified. a&"J$> «2
