In this study, historical development of Turkish political theatre as of 1960 has been researched. The research has followed a multi-layered feature by both political history readings and detailed text analyses. This study consists of three parts and in each part, the effects of historical developments of the period are primarily studied by focusing on its affects on political theater and Marxist art approach. In the light of the obtained data, the model texts determined for each chapter has been examined in detail. In connection with the historical analyses, how the authors perceived current political events, how they dealt with them, how they reflected those events to the reader/audience and authors' perception of Marxist art were extensively discussed. As a result of the assessments made at the end of each chapter; unique features of political theatre in Turkey, how content-form balance developed in political texts; have been uncovered by the help of cause-effect relationship.
