Review of graduate thesis related to the field of educational leadership between 1986-2021 in Turkey

Within the scope of this study, postgraduate theses on educational leadership conducted at universities in Turkey between 1986 and 2021 were examined. The sample, consisting of a total of 829 studies, was analyzed and reported multidimensionally with the systematic reviewapproach. The results of the study reveal that the concept of leadership shows an increasing trend in our field. It is seen that the studies carried out are mostly designed to examine the relationship between leadership types and leadership practices with other variables in the field of education. In this respect, it is not possible to say that the field of study has reached sufficient maturity yet. As a general assessment, three main stakeholders, which can be defined as teachers, school administrators and students, have a great interest in leadership practices and research. This situation provides important clues about the effect of the concept on the field. This research is an evaluational study that carried out in line with a large sample and analyzed with its outputs. In this respect, it is thought to have the potential to create a significant benefit both for researchers who will be newly involved in the field and for practitioners in the field.
