Abstract (EN)
At the beginning of 2020, the scenario that the entire public health community feared for decades came true, and a new type of corona viruses that cause disease by transmitting from animals to humans began to spread rapidly from China to the whole world. The virus, called "Covid-19" by the World Health Organization, reached the European continent on January 24, 2020 and the first case was seen on March 11, 2020 in our country. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency level of the European Union countries and Turkey in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and spread around the world in a short time, using Data Envelopment analysis. Data Envelopment Analysis, which is frequently used in the performance measurement of health systems, is a non-parametric efficiency measurement method where many inputs and outputs can be used. As input variables in the analysis; The number of doctors, the number of nurses, the number of hospitals, the number of intensive care beds per ten thousand people and the ratio of health expenditures to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as output; COVID-19 pandemic data of countries from June 10, 2021, number of tests, number of cases and number of deaths per million populations were used. In the study, output oriented Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (CCR) and Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) methods were used. Scale efficiency scores were determined and it was aimed to develop potential improvement suggestions for inefficient countries.Daha sonra doldurulacaktır.
