Abstract (EN)
Disasters and the fight against disasters are among the subjects that today's people work on the most. Among disasters, earthquakes are one of the types of earthquakes that people are most exposed to. Earthquakes occur suddenly and affect human life in many dimensions. As earthquakes interrupt social life, it is possible to intervene in earthquakes with the collective efforts of different institutions. In this study, it is aimed to categorically determine the social work practices offered for the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş that took place on February 6, 2023. In this context, the concept and types of disaster are defined, disaster management is discussed, the concept and practices of social work are explained, and the social work practices offered before, during and after the disaster are explained. The study has been prepared in a theoretical framework and some suggestions are made for the results obtained.
