Abstract (EN)
Migration is an important part of human history and a complex process with impacts on societies. It involves a process of transformation in which individuals move from one country to another and establish a new life, leading to changes in the social, cultural, economic and political spheres of the migrants and the host society. In recent years, political, economic and social factors have increased migration across the world. Germany, as one of the countries affected by these processes, has drawn attention with a refugee policy that has attracted attention at the international and national level. Especially with the impact of the civil war in Syria, the wave of migration to Germany has gained a great dimension and led to social, political and economic debates in the country. Germany's migration process and refugee policies are of great importance in terms of both domestic politics and social dynamics. In this process, Turkish immigrants also play an important role in the migration story in Germany. Turkish immigrants have come to Germany since the 1960s due to the vii need for labor force and have been living in the country for many years. This situation reveals that Turkish immigrants have significant social, cultural and economic impacts on German society and their integration process is an issue that needs to be examined. Many studies have been conducted to understand the integration process of Turkish immigrants in Germany and their effects in this process. These studies address the integration efforts of Turkish immigrants into German society, language learning, education, integration into the labor market. They also investigate Turkish immigrants' relations with German society, dual identity formation and cultural interactions. The presence of Turkish immigrants in Germany contributes not only to social diversity and cultural richness but also to economic growth. The Turkish labor force plays an important role in the German economy and is employed in the labor market. Turkish immigrants represent an important example of soft power with their integration efforts and influence in Germany, and their cultural and social contributions to Germany cannot be ignored. Soft power refers to a country's ability to use values, cultures, education and other factors of attraction to influence other countries. The success of Turkish immigrants in German society in areas such as language learning, education and integration into the labor market creates an attraction factor towards Germany. This, together with the cultural richness of Turkish immigrants, increases Germany's social diversity and strengthens the country's influence in the global arena. Cultural interaction and dual identity formation of Turkish immigrants represent another important aspect of soft power. Turkish immigrants strive to integrate into German society while preserving traditional Turkish culture in Germany. This cultural diversity promotes cultural understanding and tolerance while enhancing Germany's international prestige. The contribution of Turkish immigrants to cultural events, their activities in art, music, literature and other fields make Germany a cultural center of attraction, while their economic contributions support Germany's soft power. Turkish labor force is employed in the German economy, contributing to the country's economic growth. Turkish businesses and entrepreneurs generate new business opportunities in Germany, strengthen trade relations and contribute to international trade. This economic interaction increases Germany's economic power and its role in international relations. In conclusion, the integration efforts and impact of Turkish immigrants in Germany constitute an important part of Germany's soft power. This study, which does not aim to viii examine their impact on Germany more comprehensively, will focus on their successes in their integration into German society, the challenges they face, their economic contributions, cultural interactions and social cohesion. In addition to all these, this study will try to explain the soft power elements that these influences evoke and will also evaluate the impact of Turkish immigrants on Germany's immigration policies and social dynamics.
