Abstract (EN)
Turkey officially joined the Customs Unionformed in the WTO framework for liberalizing trade in 1996. The main objective in the Customs Union is to remove the tarif sandquotas that restrict the commercial activities between the member count riesand to open the gates of a more liberal economy but it has not lostits anti-dumping practices, which restrict the commercial activities that could not be brought to a Customs Union between the member states. Moreover, it has begun to be used as a means of protecting against unionmembers, which prevents unfaircompetition.This is contrary to the basic purpose of the Customs Union. Moreover, although Turkey, was not an EU member, it became a member of the Union with a special status and accepted the common tarif sapplied against the third countries.This situation is against the Turkey's. The aim of this study is to examine the necessity of anti-dumping practices that the Turkish people are exposed to andare exposed to within the CustomsUnion. For this purpose, the effects of Customs Union on general and Turkey basis were examined and the concept of anti-dumping was discussed in then extstage. In the conclusionpart of the study, the proposal of solution was presented by examining whether anti-dumping practices are necessary in the Customs Union on the basis of Turkey. According to this, anti-dumping practices are found to restrict thetrade of the member countries of the unionand it is reasonable to applyonly in case of destructive dumping.
