Turkiye-Azerbaijan education and culture relations (1969-2001)

After the "Sovietization" of Azerbaijan by the Bolsheviks (1920), the relations between the two states came to a breaking point in a very long time. Since the 1970s, cultural relations have been tried to be developed at a minimum level, and since the late 80s, relations in the field of education have been tried to be developed. In the XX century, the part of Turkiye-Azerbaijan relations, especially in the cultural and educational fields, have been studied very little. Since learning the relations in the fields of culture and education is important for both the scientific community and the public, this constitutes the main purpose of this research. Thera forms and aspects of the continuous development of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in the fields of culture and education are considered important in terms of identifying the mistakes left in order to put forward new proposals for the development of these relations. Learning the history of Azerbaijan`s relations with Turkey in the field of education and culture in the XX century with an impartial and realistic approach, as well as learning the cultural and educational relations between the two countries as a whole for the first time at this level are the main elements that increase the importance of the thesis.In the thesis study, official documents signed between the two countries, other archival documents, scientific studies written on the subject, and periodicals were examined. In the thesis study, scientific principles such as general methodological principles of historical science- historicity, realism, objectivity, comparative and critical approach to facts and events were followed.In the period covering the years 1969-2001, the relations between the two countries in the fields of education and culture developed with a rising line. In the development of relations, as well as the leaders, the internal situation of the countries and regional and global developments have also been effective.
