Abstract (EN)

While the dissolution of the USSR has led to the reshaping of the world and especially the Eurasian geography, it has also paved the way for the economic, political, commercial, social and cultural interactions of the former Soviet countries with other states, that had been closed for a long time. In this context, a new era has started in relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan that have common ethnic and religious links. With the declaration of independence of Azerbaijan in 1991, Turkey has been the first country that has recognized it. In the meantime, it has been tried to develop the relations between two countries in each field. The aspects of Turkish – Azerbaijani relations have also changed with globalization. The national interests of two countries have begun to be addressed in the light of geopolitical and geoeconomic developments in the world and region. In this study, it has focused on energy cooperation established between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan particularly after 2000, and emphasizing on the strategic importance of this collaboration, it has tried to determine the contributions of it to national economies of the both countries.
