Abstract (EN)
This research is looking for answers how to develop IT sector that one of the priority sectors in the development axis of Turkey on the basis of human resources. In order to contribute to the IT sector, it researches the compatibility of the workforce qualification that the sector seeks with the qualifications aimed to be acquired by the students who graduate from the information education system. In this aspect it researches to compliance education system-employment market of the IT sector in Turkey. Study compares demand side workforce qualifications that over target IT sector jobs relased by electronic employment platforms operating in Turkey within 2017-2018 years with education qualification efforts that emerged through the curriculum and target outputs of the information education system established by educational institutions and organisations in the 2019-2020 period. The method of the research is a literatüre review in which formed the conceptual framework and a qualitative data analysis study that test the results of the data sets with inductive analysis within itself. Content analysis which is a sub component of qulitative data analysis was chosen as a the analysis method because of similar study had not been carried out before and the data had to be analyzed in depth by coding it. In Turkey IT Sector Labor Qualification Analysis, the majority of companies need employment in the field of web software especially for the services sector and they were looking for other types of software programming languages and system management, cyber security and social media specialist field. Firms look for technical information such as at least one programming language, database query language, database management systems, graphic design skills, server management, cyber security tools in their candidate employees. In addition to techinal knowledge, they expect them to improve themselves in social aspect such as English grammar, suitability for flexible working hours, teamwork skills, anayltical thinking and problem solving skills, documentation, costumer relations and communication. Private and public education institutions support IT education in the multifaceted-formal and from pre-school to higher education in Turkey. The qualification that emerge from training curriculum and target outcomes meet all the IT workforce qualifications that sector is looking for. The research provides recommendations for the students regarding the workforce qualifications they need to gain in order to find a job, the issues that institutions should pay attention to in determining and declaring the workforce qualifications they need, and the issues that need to be improved by organizing the IT education system.
