Abstract (EN)
In this study, the position of post-editing in the Turkish translation sector was investigated. First, the history of machine translation and the functioning of machine translation systems were explained in order to better understand post-editing. Also, the process of post-editing and its advantages and disadvantages were mentioned. In order to find out the status of post-editing in the Turkish translation industry, the interview method, a qualitative research approach, was used. In addition to this method, companies providing translation services in Istanbul were also contacted. The interviewees were post-editors working in companies providing post-editing services in Istanbul. The data collected from the contacted sources were converted into graphs and compared with each other. The data obtained from the interviews were examined and compared with each other. The relationship between the number of companies that offer a post-editing service and those that do not was observed. It was also studied what criteria lead companies to use the post-processing method. At the same time, thanks to the interviews, the post editors' thoughts on the subject and their experiences were presented.
