Abstract (EN)

Nowadays environmental problems are a priority issue. Because of the increasing energy demand along with the industrial revolution, environmental problems are also brought along with it. Rapid industrialization and energy production work and emerging problems have led to a debate about environmental interventions. When environmental problems begin to show no effect on people, it has increased the interest in solving environmental problems. Especially in recent years there is a tendency towards increasing energy demand investments. One of these investments made to meet the energy need is the application of the hydroelectric power plant. For this reason, the adverse effects of hydroelectric power plants on the environment are one of the areas to be investigated. Because hydroelectric power plants seem to be friendly to the environment, they are also causing environmental problems. The aim of this thesis is to state that hydroelectric power plants cause environmental problems. The main point is that while hydroelectric power plants are being built, environmental considerations must be considered. That is to say, HEPPs must be applied, however, by keeping the environment on the front panel. As HES contributes to economic development, ecological effects are ignored. Therefore HES administration of the environmental problems that arise in Turkey has expressed the need to be heard. In fact, this thesis's approach is to point out that it is not human centric, but that it should be environmentalist. Because the circle is not human, but the human being is dependent on the environment. Keywords: Environment, Ecology, Environmental Problems, Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
