Abstract (EN)
The world has faced many epidemics in history since its existence. With the increase in globalization, these epidemics have spread rapidly. The effects of epidemics have multidimensional effects, including social, economic and political. While some countries have felt these effects more deeply, some countries have felt them slightly. In order to control epidemics, each country has implemented many measures in line with its own conditions and tried to minimize the impact of these epidemics. In the Covid-19 pandemic, the first case in Turkey was seen in March 2020. As in the whole world, some measures have been implemented in economic, social and social areas in our country. Over time, these measures have changed and gradual normalization has begun with the increase in vaccination. As a result of the economic losses caused by the Covid-19 health crisis, some fluctuations also emerged in the Turkish economy. The impact of these fluctuations manifested itself in every segment. And it led to the contraction of the global economy, thus stepping into the crisis period. This study aims to reveal the epidemics that human beings have faced from past to present, the effects of diseases on the economy, the global economic effects of Covid-19, and its effects on the Turkish economy from a sectoral perspective. Key Words: Covid-19, Epidemics, Pandemic, Economic Impact of Epidemics,
