Abstract (EN)
Since the beginning of the 1900's, working hours have been a subject of attention. Regulations have been made to improve working hours and working conditions, led by many organizations, especially by the ILO. Improving steps regarding the working conditions and working hours have been started in the last years of the Ottoman Empire period and continued with constitution acts, labor acts and other relevant acts in Republic Period to catch the worldwide trend. These study discusses the legal regulations in the World and Turkey, statistical comparisons and an econometric analysis of the factors affecting the working hours in Turkey.
