Lehrkonzepte zum frühen deutschunterricht in der Turkei

ABSTRACT We live in a century in which communication technology and co-operation between countries have been developing rapidly. It is a must to know a few foreign languages to reach the information resources and to solve the possible global problems to happen. Foreign language teaching has been re-handled with the new structural adjustment in 1977. According to the new system, it was decided to teach a foreign language in the fourth classes in the primary schools. Since Turkey has a close relationship with the countries in which German is spoken. German, one of the foreign languages taught in the Turkish schools has gained a reasonable importance. It is aimed at teaching German as a first or second foreign language in the primary schools. The lesson plans are also affected at the departments of German language teaching as a result of the change. As languages reflect the culture, thoughts and expressions of the society in which it is spoken, children who will learn foreign languages, will have much more friendlier behaviours to foreigners and positive attitudes towards the events and will not have prejudices. Besides, individuals will strictly keep their own values following to get accustomed to foreign cultures. I think that learning a foreign language at an earlier age and knowing the methods are important. The psychological and biological changes of children should be taken into consideration for teaching a foreign language at an earlier age. The same methods used for teaching a native language should also be used for a foreign language. The methods used should refer to the world, qualifications and needs of the children while teaching foreign languages to young learners. For this reason, a contemporaryVI method including desires, plays and songs can provide the chance of teaching a foreign language to children. Following this main idea, the plays and the songs most likely to be used in teaching a foreign language are investigated in this study. The purpose is to supply an effective teaching environment with plays, songs and repetitions belong the children's world. The methodology of the lesson referring to the natural world of children will not be out of their world ; however, it will motivate them taking " çocuğa görelik " in to account.
