The effect of the changing social structure on the family in Turkey

In this thesis study, based on the fact that change is inevitable, the impact of the changing social structure on the family institution in Turkey has been discussed. The impact of the change has been studied in terms of marriage, traditions and values. An in-depth interview was conducted with 20 randomly selected people in Ankara. The results related to the size and scope of the change in the Turkish social structure have been tried to be revealed through the example of Ankara. As a result of the research, it has been found that changes in family, traditions and values are largely perceived negatively. The general opinion has been reached that the protection of values, traditions and the family, which is the most important building block of Turkish society, is essential. In addition, it has been seen how important it is to increase the number of family-oriented studies and support them with field studies in understanding the change in the social structure of Turkey.
