Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTThe approach developed by Gülay Zorer Gedik while taking the visual and climatic comfortconditions into consideration for the optimum external shading component design, has beentransformed and improved into graphics that are considered to be a practical means of designfor the various activity percentages in the 37th and 41st latitudes. The shading situations according to the vaious activity percentages of the office buildings thatare situated between 0º-350º angular interlude and are used from 8:30 in the morning and 6:30pm everyday throughout the year have been studied and the sun shading devices dimensionshave been associated and turned into graphical method. The context of the study has been summarized below. In the second part, information on the annual movement of the sun, sun diagrams, externalfixed and movable shading devices of windows and their usage in today?s world has beengiven. In the third part, the approach has been explained within the framework of formulas andreferences. In the fourth part, the data of the formerly developed approach has been taken intoconsideration and the means of protection from sun has been studied in this light while thedimensions of the sun breakers have been transformed into graphics for different windowheights. In the fifth part, the means of protection from sun of the vertical and horizontal sun breakerswith constant visual activity percentages has been studied while keeping their qualitiesvariable and their dimensions have been turned into graphics for different window heights. In the sixth part, the means of protection from sun of the vertical and horizontal shadingdevices with variable visual activity percentages has been studied while keeping theirqualities constant and their dimensions have been turned into graphics for different windowheights. In the appendix, Shadow paths are given.Key Words: Visual activity percentage, means of protection from sun, horizontal shadingdevices, vertical shading devices.
