Translation theory and practice connection with the translation of academic progress of education in Turkey

This thesis aims at discussing an important problem of university education from the point of view of translation studies. The relation of translation education and the translation curriculum with social practice, and the counterpart of translation studies departments in the social system, constitute an important problem in the field of translation. It is possible to increase the quality of the translation industry through translation education by identifying the counterparts of translation education and translation theories in practice, and their positions within the translation system. The realisation of this objective is possible by considering translation as a system. Thanks to this approach of considering translation as a system, the positions of the actors within the translation system may be reinterpreted. This thesis aims at redefining the position of all stakeholders of the translation system within the translation system.
