Evalutaion of the views of biology teachers related to the environmental problems in Turkey

When we go back to the resources of the environmental problems and factors that are the important threats for livings and especially human beings lives, it is seen that human factors are effective. Human beings, who are the first factor to come into existence of the environmental problems, are also the most effective player in solving these problems. It is important in protecting the environment that not to pollute, to keep clean the environment rather than first to pollute and after to clean it. It can be done by the sensitivity of people and by teaching them about the importance of the environment. According to these thoughts, to analyze the interest and sensitivity of the educationalists about the environmental problems in Sivas Centrum. A questionnaire is made with on 27 high schools totally with 48 biology teachers. In the evaluation of the environmental problems and solution suggestions of the people who participante the questionnaire, age, work experience and graduated faculty are taken into consideration. It is understood with the results of the appreciations that job professions or careers have an influence on the interests and sensitivity about environmental problems. It is proved that teachers are very sensitive and sensible about their feelings or environmental problems they are facing. To be effective and successful on solving environmental problems both central and local managements must have responsibilities and sensitivities, especially teacher?s care and sensitivity on environmental problems are very important issues.
