Abstract (EN)

Due to its geographical location and historical background, Turkey has long been a significant hub for migration. In recent years, intense migration movements have brought the integration processes of migrants and the acquisition of citizenship into the spotlight as critical areas of discussion. This study aims to examine the legal foundations of citizenship acquisition and migrant integration processes in Turkey and to provide a comprehensive framework for monitoring these processes. Migration, integration, and citizenship concepts are addressed through theoretical foundations, while the historical development, socio-economic impacts, and current legal regulations regarding migration movements in Turkey are analyzed. The study explores the social, economic, and legal integration processes of migrants and presents recommendations for monitoring and improving integration. Within the scope of the study, citizenship acquisition in Turkey is evaluated within historical and contemporary dynamics, focusing on issues such as dual citizenship, temporary protection status, and the citizenship rights of Syrian migrants. A qualitative analysis method is adopted, employing a comparative evaluation of existing literature and legal documents. As a result, theoretical and practical concrete recommendations are proposed to effectively monitor the integration and citizenship processes of migrants in Turkey.
