Abstract (EN)
This study?s primary purpose is stating the overall condition of elementary music education for educable mentally retarded children by investigating the convenience and effectiveness of Elementary Music Curriculum that are applied on the educable mentally retarded students, processing and classrooms of music lessons in Turkey. A survey is carried out to the Music and Special Education teachers who apply the music curriculum in elementary schools for the educable mentally retarded. The survey form is prepared to find out the teachers opinions about the overall and specific expectations in the applied music curriculum, classrooms for music lessons, the facilities about teaching materials, musical instruments and electronic devices for teaching music and process of music lessons in educable mentally retarded children. The survey form consists of multiple choice questions that most of them are structured in Likert Scale. The data provided from the survey is analyzed statistically and the study will be resulted in the development of a model proposal which will be based on the conclusions from the interviews with the Music and Special Education Classroom Teachers.
