Abstract (EN)
It is known that the construction sector is an important sector for economic development in countries that continue to develop economically. In this research, the contribution of the construction sector to the economy in Turkey has been examined. The ever-increasing population of Turkey has increased the importance of the construction industry. Increasing housing need and infrastructure activities have given the sector investment priority in every period. In addition, the construction connection of the industrial infrastructure paved the way for the sector to be effective in a wide area. The fact that the construction sector acts together with more than 200 sub-sectors has contributed to the economy in a wide range. In addition, the gradual growth of the construction materials industry provided added value to the economy. The multifaceted activities of the sector have had an impact on employment and the monetary cycle. The sector, which enables the employment of unskilled personnel, provided employment opportunities to more than 2000 people in 2017 and 1500 people in 2020. The sector, which has shown significant developments in the last twenty years, has made its effectiveness felt both in employment and with the side contributions it has made to the market. The positive acceleration of the economy in the last twenty years has also benefited the construction sector. Thus, it paved the way for an increase in the activities of construction sites in many regions. Therefore, it contributed to regional employment and economy. In our empirical study, it has been understood that there is a causal relationship between GDP and INR (construction growth data). It has been understood that there is a causal relationship from GDP to INB, in the same way that there is a causal relationship from INB to GDP. As a result, it cannot be said that the construction sector has grown in certain periods and has achieved a stable growth in the full sense. In order for stability to be sustainable, investments must be proportional in the regional sense. It is understood that financial support to the sector should be made in a way that will contribute to stable growth.
